✈️ ALAS Foundation Mentors & Mentees — Our First Aviation Field Trip! 💙
I'm so excited to share a special milestone with our ALAS community!
We recently hosted our very first aviation field trip, welcoming students from B.E.E. Microschool for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience at Yuma International Airport!
Thanks to the incredible support and collaboration of Million Air Yuma and Piedmont Airlines, these young students had the opportunity to explore aircraft, learn about airport and airline operations, meet aviation professionals, and discover the many career opportunities our industry has to offer.
Seeing their curiosity, excitement, and endless questions was a beautiful reminder of why we started the ALAS Foundation. ❤️
To our mentors: Never underestimate the impact of sharing your knowledge, experiences, and time. Something as simple as answering a question or showing a student what you do could inspire an entirely new career path.
To our mentees: Stay curious, ask questions, take advantage of every opportunity, and never be afraid to dream beyond what you know today. Every aviation professional started somewhere!
As we continue growing our mentorship network and expanding educational opportunities throughout Yuma County, I encourage everyone in this group to connect, share experiences, ask questions, and support one another.
This is what ALAS is all about — creating access, building connections, and opening doors to aviation.
Our first field trip is officially in the books, and we're just getting started! 🛫
With gratitude,
